Dr. Michaeli is a graduate of the Sackler School of Medicine of the Tel Aviv University in Israel and completed his residency in Psychiatry in 1995 at New York University.

 

Dr. Michaeli is a graduate of the externship in couples and family therapy at the Ackerman Institute for the Family. He is a former teaching faculty member of the NYU Division of Human Sexuality and has completed two years of training in sex therapy. Dr. Michaeli participates in a bi-monthly peer education forum on issues related to gender and gender identity.

 

Dr. Michaeli has been in private practice since 1995. Additionally, he is a former inpatient psychiatrist and Unit Chief at Bellevue Hospital Center. For ten years, he worked for three private agencies serving urban and homeless teenagers. He has facilitated groups for families of psychiatric patients and has been a speaker at local NAMI chapter meetings.

 

Dr. Michaeli’s practice is divided among individual and family psychotherapy, as well as working with other non-prescribing psychotherapists in the pharmacologic management of patients.
